Creative Statement (blog 1)
I want to produce arts in various forms - video, audio, digital, commercial, etc. Regardless of the medium, I’d like to evoke emotions or create interactions.
Interactions, in my opinion, are one of the best ways to create an experience for the audience. Just looking at art is like being a bystander. We do not feel a part of things just being a bystanders, having no involvement. When a piece of art evokes emotions within us or when we interact with it, we feel like we’re a part of it.
That being said, in art there’s always room for growth and experiment. I want to develop my own style as I keep making art. However, I wouldn’t want having “my own style” to limit me. I want to keep experimenting with concepts, colors, methods and mediums. I want my art to flourish and at the same time help me grow as an artist.
Lastly, just as much as my art is for people, it is also for me. I like to create things that bring me joy, make me broaden my horizons, challenge my skills. I’d like to create pieces that have an edge, are chic and minimal. I’m also not afraid to experiment with colors or dabble with intricate designs. With that being said, each of my work should convey a message - pleasant or not. And I’d like them to reflect some form of truth in them.
